USDA GRANT TO HELP FRESNO STATE ORGANIC FARMING INITIATIVE

A $250,000 U.S. Department of Agriculture grant will boost organic agricultural research and education at California State University, Fresno beyond a
greenhouse and a small plot for vegetables certified earlier this year.

FARM BUREAU PRESENTS AWARDS TO JOURNALISTS

The Fresno County Farm Bureau announced the recipients of its 14th annual Journalism Awards at the organization's Media Appreciation Night held
Thursday, July 31 at the Clovis Rodeo Grounds.
The first place award for print journalism in general media went to Gabriel Dillard, reporter for The Business Journal, for his March story
"Developers Mind Gold in Triangle," about pressure that farmers face to sell their farmland to developers.
