[FAC] CALL TO ARTISTS: Wings Art Show & Gala Dec. 13

Call for Artists : 
The Board of Directors of Children's Musical Theaterworks (CMT) and  Musical
Theaterworks Fresno (MTF) invites you to participate as a featured artist
for our holiday gala, "Wings" to be held in conjunction with our next
musical "Peter Pan" on Saturday, December 13, 2008.  "Wings" celebrates our
fascination with flying. In "Peter Pan," flying is the way to get to
Neverland. In theater, song, painting, and sculpture - from dragonflies to
Icarus to "angels bending near the earth to touch their harps of gold" -
flight and wings are seen as symbols of beauty, freedom, danger, power, and
beneficence.  We'd invite you to interpret "wings" in any medium you prefer
and donate your original artwork to CMT to be purchased at our gala. We also
have unpainted wooden wings mounted on a stand (18"x11") should you choose
to use them as your canvas.  Smaller wings are about 9"x6" on a stand.
Please call the CMT to reserve your wings and pick them up or we'll deliver.
We have the wings ready to go. They are just waiting for you to take flight.


 

In addition to the display at the gala, your work will be shown in the foyer
of Veteran's Memorial Auditorium in downtown Fresno for the December ArtHop
on December 4 and on every night of our performance of Peter Pan which runs
December 5, 6, 7, 11, 12 & 13 plus six school shows. Your artwork will get
considerable visibility during the first part of December. Your name, a
brief bio and contact information will accompany your artwork and you will
be featured in our program insert. You will also receive two complimentary
tickets to our gala Wings and other artwork will be shown in three
categories: fine art, student and CMT performer/family.  Artists should
respond by e-mail or phone by Saturday, November 15.  Work should be
delivered to CMT by close of business, Monday, December 1.  If you have
