Attend the opening of Vibrance and Vitality, an Exhibition of Ceramic Art by
Women Artists from the Central California Women's Facility on April 16, 2009
from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. hosted by the MADERA COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL, at 1653 N.
Schnoor, Ste. 113, Madera, CA   93637.  This show is very popular and the
ceramic works sell very fast.  The women donate the procedes to charity!
Appetizers available at the reception.

Help us celebrate William Shakespeare's birthday in style at the 5th Annual
Bard's Bash at the Lester Estate.  This yearly benefit for the Woodward
Shakespeare Festival features costumed volunteers, previews of our summer
season, Tanjora Tribal Dancers and a live and silent auction - all on the
banks of the San Joaquin River.  The auctions will culminate with some
exciting trips: A weekend in Mammoth, a relaxing stay in Maine and a tour of
the Globe Theater in London!

This yearly event is a great chance to meet and chat with WSF's actors,
staff and board of directors all while enjoying refreshments catered by
Pardini's and dessert from Cupcakes Bakery.

Sunday, April 19th from 4-7 p.m.  Reservations are $25. Go to

SIERRA Art Trails 2009 APPLICATION Workshop

INSTRUCTOR - CAROL KOVACH


Hello Art Trails artists, supporters, and friends,

Carol Kovach will be holding a final Sierra Art Tails Application Workshop
on Monday, April 13 from 5 to 7 PM at Stellar Gallery in Oakhurst.

The workshop is offered by Carol Kovach and David Hoffman, and covers all
aspects of the Sierra Art Trails application process, from filling out the
application forms to preparing your images for the jury process.

The workshop will cover:



1.      Downloading, filling out, printing and saving PDF entry form

2.      Creating a folder to save entry documents and photos

3.      Naming conventions for documents and photos

4.      Saving photos to a specific folder

5.      Tips for taking a good photograph of art work

	a.	Size of photos
	b.	Lighting
	c.	Backgrounds
	d.	Angles
	e.	Using (or not using) flash

6.      Downloading and saving photos

7.      Editing photos with basic software (cropping, brightness)

8.      Printing photos:

	a.	transferring photos to a card or thumb drive to take to a
photo printer
	b.	printing on a home printer - essential settings

Bring own laptop or use one of Carol's.

Bring a thumb drive or CD with photos on it for practice.



The Submission Deadline  for SAT 2009 is April 15, 2009
