CALL FOR ARTISTS: First Annual T-Shirt Design Contest @ Fresno Art Museum

The Fresno Art Museum (FAM) announces a Call for Artists to submit
designs for “FAM’s First Annual T-Shirt Design Contest”.

EVENT DETAILS:
There is no fee required in order to enter the contest.   The contest
is open to all artists who are at least 18 years of age.  Void where
prohibited by law. Only one entry from each participant will be
accepted.

Eligible participants should create a design to be placed on the front
of a t-shirt.  The design should embody the spirit of the Fresno Art
Museum which is to present modern and contemporary art to a diverse
community and should include the year 2009 in the design, as we hope
to make this an annual event.

DESIGN REQUIREMENTS:

-The design shall not include explicit, profane or obscene material,
endorsement or encouragement of illegal drug use, alcohol abuse or
other illegal activity, nudity, profanity or extreme or gratuitous
violence.

-Employees of the Museum, Museum board members, FAME organizers or
families of these groups are not eligible to participate.

-Designs shall be the original design of the participant and must not
infringe upon any copyrights.

-Participants agree to give the Fresno Art Museum irrevocable,
perpetual, universe-wide, royalty-free license to copy, excerpt, edit
and repurpose all submitted designs in whole or in part.  Participants
agree that they will not be compensated for submitting any design or
for future use of any submitted design.

-The eligible participant shall convert the design into .eps or .tiff
form that does not exceed a resolution of 250-300 dpi.

DEADLINES:
Participating artists should include the artist’s name, e-mail
address, mailing address, and phone number and should deliver their
design digitally via e-mail to info at fresnoartmuseum.org by 12:00
midnight on May 13, 2009 or on CD to the Fresno Art Museum at 2233 N.
First Street, Fresno, CA  93703 by 5:00 p.m. on May 13, 2009.

Each participant will receive an acknowledgement e-mail of receipt of
their design.

JUDGING:
Judging will be conducted in two phases.  First, a panel of five
judges comprised of FAM’s Executive Director and four board members of
FAME (Fresno Art Museum Enthusiasts) will select five finalist
designs.  Second, the five finalist designs will be posted on the
Fresno Art Museum’s MySpace site on May 15, 2009 for judging by the
general public.  The winning design will be determined by the most
votes cast on the website by 12:00 midnight on May 20, 2009.

The winner will be announced at the Fresno Art Museum during ArtHop on
May 21, 2009.  The winner will receive a 1 year complimentary
membership to the Fresno Art Museum valued at $150, they will be
highlighted on the FAM website, and their winning design will be
printed on 1,000 t-shirts.

T-SHIRT SALES:
The t-shirts will first be sold by FAME at the upcoming Men Who Cook
event on June 5, 2009, a fundraising event of the Fresno Art Museum,
and will be available for purchase throughout the year on-line at
www.fresnoartmuseum.org.
