Partners in Focus
The Partners in Focus program was developed by William Raines to work in conjunction with after school public facilities to assist and deepen academic knowledge, and promote young students abilities to succeed in a traditionally underserved student population. This seed program was funded through a grant provided by the Fresno Arts Council with assistance by Bigby Villa Apartments and their parent corporation AF Evans, Fresno Free Radio Foundation, MaSA Design and Kristi Bolin. Additional assistance was provided through the professional and personal help of Kirtley King, Terrance Reimer, Sylvia Aparicio and Dr. Paulette Fleming.

The program provides a combined technical assistance and educational component as building opportunities for the professional career awareness not offered at their schools. Focus is centered on avenues of discovery, learning and expression through visual imaging as a fundamental language and potential tool for developing critical skills and pushing beyond the obvious to more conceptual development.

Join us in the celebration of these young artists in collaboration with the Partners in Art youth program provided through California State University, Fresno at the reception May 7th at Corridor 2122 at Van Ness and Mono.

The 2nd annual Swede Film Festival will hold its video screening and reception at Corridor 2122 on Saturday May 9th from 6-8 pm. Anyone interested in submitting a video or seeks further information can contact Roque Rodriguez through the web site thedumbdrum at gmail.com.
