Namarrkon waits for The Wet

When he will ride the clouds created by Yingarna.

When the storm  begins

He will draw axes from his body

And hurl them across the sky.

Some he will throw to the earth

Shattering trees and stones

And destroying his enemies.

	
"Namarrkon Rides the Storm Clouds" continues a body of work that combines
Australian Aboriginal cave painting with modern computer art techniques. 

Namarrkon, also know as Lightning Man, is the Aboriginal Storm Spirit.  He
is the protector of the people, hurling lightning from the sky to strike
down wrong-doers. Yingarna is the Aboriginal Earth Mother, responsible for
seeding the tribes across Australia. 

Many of the images are a reflection of Bock's understanding of the
characters, myths, and legends of the Aboriginal people of Australia 's
Northern Territory . Others combine aboriginal art with photography taken
over the past three years at the Jammin' Tree Didgeridoo Festival. The
exhibit will also include Bock's Aboriginal desert style dot paintings,
ceramics by Tiwi Wood and Amy Morgan, and woodcarvings by Calvin Lyster. 

The Jammin' Tree Didgeridoo Festival is the perfect venue for Bock's work.
The festival celebrates traditional Australian music, and its fusion with
modern music. When brought together, music and art transform and enhance
each other, and celebrate the timeless traditions of Australian Aboriginal
culture.
