Business of ArtT San Jose
Entrepreneurial Training for Artist 
Artists and creative entrepreneurs who take CCI's signature program,
Business of Art T learn key business skills that provide them with the
knowledge and resources to help advance their art, develop their ideas and
increase their financial independence. Business of Art T classes are taught
by a variety of business leaders with experience in both corporate and
non-profit entities. Students learn key concepts involved in goal setting,
strategic planning, marketing and self-promotion, money management, legal
issues and project financing. In addition to classroom training, all
Business of Art T students participate in counseling sessions with leading
arts and business professionals.  

The next Business of ArtT course will begin in September 2009. Enrollment is
limited to 25 students.

Who Am I Anyway? Creating and Writing an Artist Statement
Whether you are approaching galleries, presenters or writing a grant
proposal, your Artist Statement needs to communicate the essence of you and
your work in a clear and succinct way. Through brainstorming, writing and
discussion exercises, this workshop will help you create an Artist Statement
that reflects your art. Participants will leave with a draft of an inspiring
and effective Artist Statement. 

Nancy Quinn received her MBA in Arts Administration from the Anderson School
at UCLA in 1983. As part of her business school curriculum, she served as an
intern in the fundraising office at New York City Ballet. Her professional
experience in the arts includes managerial positions with the Sequoia String
Quartet Foundation, Chamber Music America, the San Francisco Conservatory of
Music, and San Francisco Performances. She is the founder and principal of
Quinn Associates, which has been providing fundraising services for Bay Area
arts organizations since 1988. In Winter 2007, Nancy served as an Adjunct
Professor at California College of the Arts.
