[FAC] Are You Relevant

Today's post in Entrepreneur The Arts asks an interesting question -  
are your relevant?

This is a particularly intriguing question in light of the fact that  
funding of the arts is at an all-time low in our area.  Two of our  
major museums are fighting for existence; there is only one major  
foundation that funds the cultural arts in our area, the James Irvine  
Foundation and orgs have to have an annual budget of $100,000 in order  
to qualify for funding; the Fresno Regional Foundation only has  
$85,000 a year that it regrants to the arts; and the Fresno Arts  
Council's A-Z funds runs out next year.

Do we value artists?
What difference do the arts make?
What difference do the cultural arts make in a community?
How would it affect Fresno if our museums closed?
Does it matter that venues for performing groups close?
Are the arts relevant?
