[FAC] WINNERS ANNOUNCED - Kings River Arts Council Christmas Art Show

Ms. Kristina Hornback, Curator of the Fresno Metropolitan Museum, judged the Christmas Art Show on Sunday.  I received her judging sheet yesterday afternoon.
 
Let me first explain how the judging was done.  There were cards created with numbers on them.  Those cards were given to an individual not associated with the Art Show.  He placed the numbered cards, in random fashion, on the art.  There were no other distinguishing cards, such as paqards with artist name, title, etc. on the art and he was the only one who knew what number he placed where.  This process allows for complete unbiased judging.  A judging sheet was created with these numbers listed with columns for the judging criteria.  All Ms. Hornback had was the judging sheet.  She had no way of knowing the artist's names.  She judged the art by number and according to the judging criteria.  She placed her scores for the criteria for each piece in the corresponding columns.  I took her completed judging sheet and spent last evening locating each number and identifying which artist and piece that number belonged to.  Once the numbers and the artists/pieces were corresponded, this gave me the winning-pieces information.
 
Plaqards have now been placed on each piece in the show identifying artist name, piece title, and price (if for sale).
 
Now to what you really want to know....Who won!!

Melvin Harrel of Reedley, Sculpture, Buffalo Madonna
 
One member of the Reedley Community stated...and I quote..."The Christmas Art Show brings Christmas Spirit to our downtown".
