PARKWAY PROGRAM SPECIALIST  

General Description

The Parkway Program Specialist is responsible for maintaining, and
communicating information about the Parkway and Trust programs to the
public.  This individual provides information to teachers, parents, and
other members of the community who contact the organization through phone
calls, email, or visits to the River Center.  The Program Specialist takes
reservations and registrations for education and recreation programs,
providing a one-person resource for people who want to know about the
organization and participate in its programs.

 


Areas of Responsibility and Duties


*	Register participants and guests for all education and recreation
programs, and other Parkway events as needed   

*	Maintain program databases and process payments for education and
recreation programs 

*	Provide information to teachers, parents, and the general public
regarding educational field trips, river camp, and other recreational sites,
events, activities and programs  

*	Act as a liaison to other visitor information sources with
partnership agencies or related groups   

*	Record pertinent visitor data and prepare management reports related
to use and services provided  

*	Serve as a coordinator of facilities management for the Coke
Hallowell Center for River Studies, acting as the point of contact for
service and maintenance providers  

*	Provide general support for education and community programs staff  

*	Bilingual speaking and writing skills in Spanish or Hmong required 

 

Desired Qualifications

*         Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to
work productively with staff, Board members, teachers, volunteers, and
diverse community members   

*         Excellent computer skills, including a knowledge of Microsoft
Office software and the ability to quickly learn new programs and systems;
knowledge of databases and graphic or web design is preferred
