Prize winner at the 1995 Chopin International Piano Competition in 
Warsaw, this Venezuelan artist's visionary interpretations and unique 
improvisational gift have won her greatest acclaim in such 
prestigious venues as London's Wigmore Hall, Kennedy Center in 
Washington, D.C., Ottawa's National Arts Center, Hamburg's 
Musikhalle, and Cologne's Philharmonie. Gabriela Montero's deeply 
felt and technically brilliant improvisations play as important a 
part in her life as they did for Bach and Mozart.
