Anyone in the performing arts won't want to miss dancer/choreographer Deborah Hay ( www.deborahhay.com ) on Wednesday, July 15, at 8 p.m. in the John Wright Theatre.   Ms. Hay will be giving a Dance Lecture/Performance titled, A Lecture on the Performance of Beauty .

An icon of American contemporary dance, Deborah Hay studied with Merce Cunningham and Mia Slavenska, and then danced with the Cunningham Dance Company during a six-month tour through Europe and Asia.   Influenced by Cunningham and John Cage, she collaborated with experimental artists to form the Judson Dance Theatre, which became one of the most radical and explosive 20 th century art movements.

>From her base in Austin , Texas , Ms. Hay is invited across the globe to work on commissions, give workshops, lectures, and performances.   Her status among dance professionals is unparalleled for her fearless plunge into the experimental and elemental.

Tickets can be ordered at the CSU Summer Arts' Box Office, 559-278-5109, or online at www.csusummerarts.org .   Prices are $10 students/seniors; $15 general; $20 reserved.
