Dr. C. John Suen, Professor at CSU Fresno, will be presenting a lecture
at the Fresno Metropolitan Museum on Saturday, March 7th, 2009 at 11:00
a.m. The lecture will focus on climate change and on water resources
sustainability. This lecture is free with Museum admission.

The San Joaquin Valley is a place where water supply is a principle
issue whereas climate change is global. Nowhere else is the discussion
of sustainability of irrigated agriculture water supply more relevant
than in the San Joaquin Valley. Here in the San Joaquin Valley, climate
is crucial for the growing of countless crops that make our Valley a
flourishing fruit bowl. In light of current data that supports climate
change, worldwide attention is being focused on ways to curve back the
steady increase of the world's temperature. The issues of climate
change and water supply echo throughout the world with alarming notice.

Dr. C. John Suen is a Professor at California State University, Fresno.
He also serves as Chief of Hydrogeology Studies of the California Water
Institute at Fresno State. He received his doctorate in geology from
M.I.T. and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California,
San Diego. Before joining Fresno State, he held the rank of (full)
Scientist at Brookhaven National Laboratory in New York.
