[FAC] Big Read Photo Contest by Fresno County Library deadline April 19th

The Fresno County Public Library is seeking entries for a Big Read Photo
Contest.  Pick up a "Get Off the Fence. Read Tom Sawyer" sign and contest
rules at any branch library or at the Customer Service Kiosk in Sierra Vista
Mall.  A sign and contest rules can also be downloaded to print at home from

http://www.fresnolibrary.org/events/br09photo.html.  Display the sign in
your yard or window to encourage everyone to read The Adventures of Tom
Sawyer this March and April for The Big Read, and then take a photo of you,
your family, your pet or your friends with your creatively displayed sign.
A panel of local judges will choose a winning photo based on creativity,
originality and best fun factor!  Email your digital photo with the subject
line as "Big Read Photo Contest" to

A printed 5"x7" photo is also acceptable and should be mailed to Roberta
Barton, Fresno County Library, 2420 Mariposa Street, Fresno, CA 93721.  All
entries must include name, address, phone and email and must be received or
postmarked by April 19, 2009.  The winning photographer will receive a Sony
Digital Book Reader to enjoy portable convenience of downloading and reading
up to 160 e-books courtesy of Sierra Vista Mall and Target.  The Big Read is
sponsored by The Fresno Bee, ABC-30, K-Jewel 99.3 FM, KYNO 1300 AM, and the
San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservancy Trust.  The Big Read is an
initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the
Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest.  For information,
