If you missed Jeff Anglen or Dr. C. John Suen when they recently visited the Fresno Metropolitan Museum for lectures, fret no more! The video of both lectures is on the Met's blog, at www.fresnomet.org/mettalk
Jeff Anglen is a vertebrate paleontologist and lecturer in the Earth and Environmental Sciences Department at CSU Fresno. He specializes in the Mesozoic Era (dinosaur & bird evolution), the era of Feathered Dinosaurs. He recently presented a lecture entitled Lagerstatten. Lagerst?tten [meaning "(fossil) deposit places" in German] are geological fossil deposits that are rich with varied, well-preserved fossils, representing a wide variety of life from a particular era. These spectacular fossil deposits represent an amazing "snapshot" in time.
Dr. C. John Suen, Professor at CSU Fresno, presented a lecture, entitled "Impact of Global Climate Change on Water Resources Sustainability"
The lecture focused on climate change and the effects on the water supply so necessary to keep the San Joaquin Valley a thriving agricultural region.
