The Good Company Players are presenting the delightful musical of Little
Women, a timeless story of family and of a young America finding its voice,
as the second show of their 2009 Season at Roger Rocka's through May 17.
Louisa May Alcott's much-loved story of the March sisters and their beloved
Marmee is set during the Civil War, though it deals with issues still
relevant today.
Six generations have loved Little Women-and now this generation can sing it.
Good Company's production, directed by Elizabeth Fiester, is headed by
Taylor Abels as Jo, whose writing career is pivotal to the structure of the
show: her stories come alive and frame the growth and change in the March's
lives.
Ashley Taylor is Meg, the oldest of the sisters and the first to find grown
up romance. Lorraine Christiansen is Beth, the fragile sister, and Nicholle
Cash is Amy, the spoiled baby of the family who grows into thoughtful
womanhood with unexpected rewards.
Jennifer Riordan-Goettsch plays Marmee; Seth Scott is the lonely neighbor
Laurie whom the March family practically adopts; Brian Pucheu is John
Brooke, Laurie's tutor and Meg's suitor; and Terry Lewis plays Prof. Bhaer,
Jo's friend and fellow boarding house resident when she moves to New York.
Also featured in the cast are Kelly Scott, Lance Casper and Madelyn Hansen.
