DESCRIPTION:

A competitive, juried show will be held at Gallery 25 in Fresno, CA.  
Fresno lies 
very near the exact geographical center of California.
We want to find the center of what is 
happening in art today.  
Webster defines ‘ism’ as a distinctive doctrine, cause or theory. 

There are myriad ‘isms’, impressionism, surrealism, expressionism, dadaism, modernism, 
constructivism, deconstructivism, structuralism, feminism and even postmodernism and 
pluralism, etc. 

Gallery 25 hopes to bring together a wide variety of art work for this exhibit, 
intending to focus attention on the vast multitude of rich ideas, reflecting both the diversity 
of their makers and the influence of all the various ‘isms’ that define the aesthetic, 
philosophical, social and political framework of our world.  The opportunity to create an 
exhibit where differences can work together and share the same space drives this exhibit, 
and inspires its title, Centralism.

ELIGIBLE WORK:  All media of artwork will be considered.  Open to any living artist 18 years of 
age or older.  All entries must be original works of art.  Accepted work must arrive ready to 
display, with hanging wire or appropriate hardware for any wall mounted work. Some 
pedestals are available for other work.   Special installation or set up can be arranged within 
the abilities of gallery staff.  The gallery is large and light filled with very high ceilings 16-
20’.  The only limitation to size is getting it through a standard size door…. 

REQUIREMENTS - IMAGES SENT FOR CONSIDERATION:

35 mm slides - (include SASE for return 
of slides) - or - CD, labeled with artist’s name and contact information
... images in jpeg 
format
....file names should consist of artist’s last name followed by entry number on entry 
form; (i.e.  smith1.jpg)

Video entries must be submitted on a DVD and must be viewable in 
QuickTime or Windows Media Player.  Videos should be no more than 20 minutes in length.


CD’s and DVD’s will not be returned
