Community oriented artists, authors, and photographers, Cynthia Manuszak and
Purple Hat, each will give a presentation about book writing at Valley Arts
& Science Academy (VASA) at 770 N. San Pablo between Belmont and Olive in
the Tower, tomorrow, May 22, 2009, at 9:30 a.m., and you are invited (just
check in at the office first).
Cynthia and Purple have collaborated for several years on various
photography and community events. Cynthia, having received numerous awards,
focuses on humanitarian issues, and Purple, an award winning photographer,
on the beauty in nature. Despite their disparate backgrounds, they both
work well together.
Cynthia's book, A Morning With Margaret Hudson is about Fresno's famed
sculptress and artist Margaret Hudson and the field trips that she has been
hosting for over twenty plua years. Margaret, at the age of 82, is still
giving tours of her home/painting studio and yard, The Gentle Jungle, and a
clay demonstration, twice a year for two weeks at a time, to local school
children. The book is near completion, and orders are being taken for it.
Purple's book, Purple Hat Swims California's Highest Lakes!, is about his
attempt last August to swim all of California's lakes over 12,500',
including California's highest lake! The book reveals the highs, and the
lows of his experience, and has 37 pages of full color images of what he saw
during the trip. The book is available for purchase.
For more information, contact Cynthia at 709-2263 or Purple at 797-5925.
Peace be with you.
