THE PRODUCERS!- is back by popular demand at Roger Rocka's Dinner Theater
Good Company Players brings back to the stage their wildly popular 2008
production of Mel Brook's award-winning musical THE PRODUCERS. The musical,
based on the 1968 movie "The Producers" directed by Brooks-creator of such
well-known films as "Young Frankenstein" and "Blazing Saddles", premiered on
Broadway in 2001 and won a record 12 Tony Awards. Reproduced by the
original 2008 Good Company Players production staff and most of the original
cast, The Producers will play at Roger Rocka's Dinner Theater, January 21
through March 14, 2010.
Successful Broadway producer Max Bialystock's career is on the verge of
collapse when his hopeful "smash hit" comes out a flop. Into Max's life
walks an accountant named Leo Bloom, as nervous and skittish as Max is
bombastic and outrageous. Bloom stumbles on a plan where a producer could
make more money with a flop than with a hit - and the game is on! While
Bialystock maximizes his mojo to win the hearts (and money) of many lonely
old lady investors, Bloom gets his hands wrapped up with their new sexpot
secretary, and the two producers set about creating a sure-fire flop called
"Springtime for Hitler" with Brook's bawdy something-to-offend-everyone
humor.
THE PRODUCERS score includes tunes from the movie-"Prisoners of Love",
"Springtime for Hitler"-along with new songs such as "When You've Got It,
Flaunt It", and "I Wanna Be a Producer". Fred Bologna is back to direct and
co-choreograph with Kaye Migaki, and David Sarkisian returns to vocal coach.
The perfect stage team - Darren Tharp and Peter Allwine - play Bialystock
and Bloom, joined by Kristen Henson as the bombshell secretary Ulla. The
disastrous production team for "Springtime for Hitler" includes a former
Nazi playwright (John Masier), the worst director on Broadway, Roger De Bris
(Steve Souza), his assistant Carmen Ghia (Scott Hancock), plus a host of
singers and dancers in countless roles.
THE PRODUCERS will play January 21 through March 14, 2010, Wednesday through
Sunday with two shows on most Sundays. Wednesdays and Thursdays, a buffet
is served beginning at 5:45 p.m., with a Pre-Show featuring GCP'S Junior
Company at 7:30 and the performance at 8 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, dinner
is served at 6 p.m., with the Pre-Show at 8 p.m. and the performance at 8:30
p.m. The Sunday matinee brunch buffet is served at 11 a.m., with the
Pre-Show at 1 p.m. and the performance at 1:30 p.m. Sunday evening times are
5 p.m. for the buffet, 7 p.m. for the Pre-Show, and 7:30 p.m. for the
performance. Dinner and Show prices for Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday
evening shows are $42.00 per person. The Sunday matinee Buffet and Show is
